Back to School I Go

What’s up, y’all? I recently made the decision to go back to school for my Bachelor’s degree in Network Operations and Security at Western Governor’s University (WGU). I start classes July 1st and I am beyond excited!

What Made Me Want to Go Back to School?

After passing my CCNA R&S in December, my motivation to reach my goals has been at an all-time high. The problem was that I wasn’t sure which direction to go. The one thing I realized about self-study is that your goals can either be organized and have a clear path, or you can end up all over the place wanting to learn everything with an unreasonable time frame (it me). Going to WGU will allow me to earn certifications that make sense to my goals, all the while earning a Bachelors degree.

I should also mention that after getting my transcripts from ITT and Sullivan University, I was able to transfer 70 credits to WGU, leaving me with 52 credits to complete, with 57.38% of my program completed! Makes sense for me to go ahead and complete the program and obtain my degree.

For those interested in WGU, I will be documenting this experience. I plan to talk about orientation, my first month of attending WGU, the experience of taking online classes and what certifications I will be preparing for.

Again, I am absolutely thrilled to be going back to school to better myself and learn new things!
