My name is Keithia Williams and I have been in the IT field for thirteen years. Most of that time has been spent providing technical support for different Internet Services Providers and as a Data Center Support Technician Lead (sprinkled in with some laptop and phone repair). I absolutely love to troubleshoot and helping users find a resolution, all the while educating them.
I started Keeto of All Trades to pay it forward. When I first got started in this field, I didn’t have a ton of resources or a mentor to help me figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up. This blog is for anyone looking to get started in the Information Technology field and for those of us who are already here. Shout to you all, and especially the girls and women out there: You are more than welcome to be a part of something amazing!
To add, I started this blog due to the inspiring private messages I get from my Instagram page, where users ask me the following questions:
- How do I get into the IT field?
- Should I go for the CompTIA A+?
- What study materials did you use for “x” certification?
- Am I smart enough to work in IT?
I will say that although I love this field, I am still trying to find my way. Being in tech support can be rewarding yet trying at times. I currently hold CompTIA A+, Net+, and Security+ certifications. As of December 2018, I achieved my goal of becoming CCNA R&S certified, so I’m moving in the right direction of becoming a Network Security Engineer. But like anything in life, it is a process and I am enjoying every bit of it.
Lastly, these ideas published on this blog are based on my own experiences and ideas.
Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you enjoy.
